Subtraction has BEGUN in room D56. We have started learning some new strategies to solve our subtraction number sentences as well as subtraction number stories. Here is one example of a number path that kids have learned to use to either count back or count on, depending on the problem.
I have decided to use Seesaw as my platform to post math videos for all of you. Posting videos on this website is much more involved than Seesaw is which is why you have not seen that many. However, Seesaw is super quick and simple so stay tuned for math tutorial videos from me on your child's page!
Final Thoughts and HOUSEKEEPING!
TOMORROW IS COZY CAVE DAY! These kids have DONE IT AGAIN and earned all their chips in the IN jar. This time they voted to have Cozy Cave Day as their privilege! This means that on Thursday the kids can wear COZY CLOTHES (such as jammies) and bring a flashlight with them to school. I will be covering their desks with blankets and transforming them into caves. They will spend most of the day working in their "caves" under their desks with their flashlights. If you do not have a flashlight at home, no worries! I will be bringing in some extras. Looking forward to a GREAT day! I will make sure to take lots of pictures and videos to share.
That's all for now!
